Guy Fawke’s Night

Another delayed post, but I’ve been busy with NaNoWriMo, trying to write a 50, 000 word novel in one month. Ahead of today’s target but I can see things getting trickier nearer the end of the month.

Anyway, I was pretty pleased this year, that I was invited to go to a fireworks display with some of the girls from work.

As we got close to the site of the fireworks while in the car, the traffic was shocking, and no sign of any car parks. Luckily we had a permit! Then we walked to the display area, tramping through the long grass, trying not to trip over in the dark. I did have a torch, but the battery was starting to go, and it wasn’t enough for the six of us. Luckily we didn’t trip over, step on any snakes or dog poo!

We made it to the fenced off area. It surprises me that in the UK you can buy fireworks at the supermarket (not something you can do in Australia), but then because of health and safety regulations, have to stand 100 meters back from a bonfire.

The fireworks were pretty good, and then we headed back for some KFC and a cartoon. Bugs Bunny is always a good way to end the night!
