New Zealand: Nelson

We had a beautiful day to explore Nelson. Our first stop was Monty’s Sunday Market, which was full of second hand goods to examine. Making the most of the sunny weather, we then walked up to the Center of New Zealand viewpoint, which was a little bit of a steep climb, but had a fantastic view over Nelson when we got there!

Our next stop was the World of Wearable Art and Classic Cars Museum, an interesting combination of themes, but a great spot to visit. The wearable art exhibits were fascinating for anyone who likes art, craft or fashion, and the cars were beautifully restored. Although this was the third vehicle museum we visited on this trip, I’m not really a car enthusiast, but it’s hard not to appreciate something that so much care has gone into.

We had a quick stop at Tahanui Beach, with the contrast of the sun, sand and sea, with snow capped peaks in the background, before visiting Founders Heritage Park, which was a lovely spot to walk around in the sunshine, seeing the heritage buildings. It also has a brewery if that’s something you’re into!
