Where is she going?

First stop on my big trip was India, which I visited with two friends from university. We started off with a tour, and then headed out for a bit by ourselves!

We visited Delhi, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra, Khajuraho, Bandhavgahr and Varanasi. Then we flew out from Delhi to Cochi in Kerala, had a side trip out to Munnar to see some tea plantations and then made our way up the coast to Goa, where I got sick so I kind of missed Mumbai.

Then I flew back home for a week to recover from the dodgy food I’d eaten (it was that bad!).

Then I flew to Japan and met one of my friends and we travelled round going to Nagano, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, Okayama and Tokyo. Lots of fun!

After that, I went to to the UK where I worked for a while, mainly around Manchester but visited Manchester, Bolton, Liverpool, Chester and Brighton in the UK.

I also went to Ireland, Barcelona and a quick visit to Italy in between jobs.

Then I finished my job up and rushed around Europe. I started in Paris, went to Bruges, Amsterdam, Berlin, Krakow, Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Vienna, Budapest, Bled, Venice, Cinque Terra, Florence and Rome.

Then it was four weeks in Turkey,  a stop in Geneva for a conference and a few weeks in Scotland.

After that I headed back home for a couple of months, with a little break in the middle for my sisters wedding in Bali. Unfortunately I divided my time between lying ill on the pool lounges or in my room, or in hospital. Not the best part of my trip!

Then it was back to the UK, and off to work, with a brief trip to Berlin with my mum and then a week in Norway (where I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights!). Once I’d finished work (for the time being) I did a trip through France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco, then worked for a couple more months and went around Wales, Cornwall and then onto Eastern Europe with brief stops in Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Bulgaria before finishing in Istanbul.

2012 saw me beginning the year back in Australia visiting family. I did try and act like a tourist in my own town (fairly successfully) then back to the UK. After that there was a trip to Cuba (so much fun), saw a bit more of the UK, visited Jordan and Egypt, followed by Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands.

What’s next? Not sure. My list of places to visit seems to be getting longer and longer!

  1. Hi Lindsay
I came across your blog today. How interesting photos you have posted!
I loved those taken in Myanmar. A few shots were just perfect for me to use it as references to practice paint, as I am a watercolor painter. I haven’t been travelling the area, but I can relate so well since I grew up in Korea.
If my paintings turns out ok, it happens once in a while, I usually show them in public; small gallery, my students or friends. Can I get permission from you that I can use your photos as references for my painting? I change some part of all the photos, but it’s yours I am based on when I start to paint. Please send me your reply to mgoltz@woh.rr.com. I’d greatly appreciate your kindness.
