After the Kinabatangan River we headed to Sandakan. On the way we stopped at the war memorial which was incredibly sad and moving.
After that we were able to explore Sandakan which has a really interesting mix of heritage, decrepit beauty and some funky modern touches.
We also got a massage which was nice, (although still a little tender on the legs) and had an amazing dinner on the waterfront, probably the most delicious food so far!
