Miami adventures

10th January 2023

This morning we started the day with a trip out to the Everglades. It was a lovely morning and we were on the first boat out for the day, which was great as we got to experience incredibly still waters and got to see a bit of wildlife with seven alligators, lots of birds and an iguana.

We were also able to see a gator show and eat some gator bites.

Once we were back in Miami we had a bit more of a walk around, seeing the beach, some of the art deco architecture. It was a really nice walk around the waterfront and through some of the streets.

That evening we went to the Time Out market for some dinner, which was delicious!

11th January 2023

This morning we had an early start to get to the airport, and then a wait as the planes were grounded, but we weren’t delayed for too long considering!

Once we arrived in Orlando we got another local bus to our hotel, which was a bit more of a mission than the one in Miami. It was a bit tricky to find the pick up spot, we just missed the previous bus and it was quite a slow bus, but we got there in the end!

Once we had arrived we went for a bit of a walk and then had an early dinner!

12th January 2023

It was another early start today to head to Disney World!

Once we arrived, we found our way to Hollywood Studios just before it opened, and then did the Smugglers Run ride and Star Tours when the queues weren’t too bad and saw the Muppets in 3d and the Indiana Jones show before getting some lunch.

Then we explored the park a bit more and as we were heading back to the Star Wars section, the Rise of the Resistance, which had been closed, had opened back up, so we had an 80 minute wait instead of two hours or so. It was a great ride!

After that we headed to Magic Kingdom, where we walked around, went on the Jungle Cruise ride, had some dinner, did the Haunted Mansion and a couple of shows, before finding a spot for the fireworks and to try and rest our legs.

The fireworks and light show was incredible!

At the end of the night we got our late bus home, very tired!

13th January 2023

It was another early start this morning to head to the Kennedy Space Center, with a walk through the rain to the pick up point, with the worst weather so far of the trip (got really lucky with the weather until now!)

On the drive the rain was pummeling down, but we got there ok and the rain stopped not long after arriving.

The Space Center had some incredible exhibitions and rides, and I was able to meet an astronaut.

All in all, it was a fantastic day, and I really enjoyed myself!

Today was the start of the next phase of the trip, a conference, so kind of back into work mode and the end of the blog for this trip!
